Account deletion

Delete your FamVerify account.

You can start deletion in the app or ask for help here if you no longer have access. We verify the request so another person cannot delete your identity simply by knowing your email address.

Deletion process updated: 27 August 2026

Delete from the app

  1. Open FamVerify on a trusted phone.
  2. Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete account.
  3. Review how deletion affects your Circles, trusted phone, recovery and information.
  4. Complete the trusted-phone check and confirm deletion.

Deletion is permanent. New account activity stops immediately, your trusted phone and signed-in sessions are revoked, Circles you own are closed and open recovery requests are cancelled.

If you cannot use a trusted phone

Email hello@andrewtech.co.uk with the subject “FamVerify account deletion”. Tell us the display name and Circle names you remember, but do not send a passcode, private key, biometric information, payment details or full invitation link.

We will explain the proportionate identity and account checks needed before deletion. Access to an email account by itself is not treated as proof of an established FamVerify identity.

Before you confirm

  • Circles you own will close for everyone. If the group should continue, tell its members and arrange a replacement Circle before deleting.
  • Tell people who rely on your FamVerify identity that it will no longer be available.
  • Save any information you are entitled to keep before deletion begins.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription.

Cancel a separate store subscription

Use the store account that pays for the Circle. Cancellation stops a future renewal; Apple or Google shows when the current paid period ends.

What happens to your information

Access ends immediately. Eligible profile, contact, push and operational information is then erased or pseudonymised. Encrypted backups expire within 35 days, with completed deletion records reapplied if a backup is restored.

Limited security, dispute and accounting records remain only where needed to protect people or meet legal duties. Circle events that also concern another member may remain in minimised form rather than being rewritten as if they never happened. The complete schedule is in the Privacy notice.
